Days of Our Lives Spoilers, Friday, January 31

Days of Our Lives Key Art

Just when you thought a wedding might actually happen on Days of Our Lives, the writers pulled the rug out from under us – and Jada Hunter, specifically. Friday’s episode on Peacock delivered the soap opera goods, complete with a groom switcheroo, infidelity revelations, and enough dramatic irony to choke a horse.

Jada, sweet, innocent Jada, was ready to say “I do” to Rafe Hernandez. Except, the man waiting at the altar wasn’t Rafe, but his doppelganger Arnold Feniger, planted there by EJ DiMera in some convoluted revenge scheme that probably involves a stolen microchip or a contested inheritance. Meanwhile, the real Rafe, having finally escaped his captivity (don’t ask), was frantically trying to reach the church.

As if a fake groom weren’t enough, Leo Stark, never one to miss a chance for theatrics, discovered “Rafe’s” pre-wedding indiscretion with a dancer. Naturally, he chose the ceremony as the perfect moment to air the dirty laundry, though whether his motives were purely to expose the truth or just to create chaos is debatable.

Adding to the drama, Steve Johnson walked Jada down the aisle, completely oblivious to the impending disaster. Javi Hernandez, privy to the groom’s secret, wrestled with his conscience, caught between loyalty and honesty. This all played out against the backdrop of a previous episode featuring Leo writing a script with two wedding interruptions, because why not foreshadow the chaos? Ultimately, the real Rafe burst into the church, leaving Jada, and probably half the viewers, speechless. Let’s just say this wedding will be a Salem legend for years to come.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock.
