Salem, that hotbed of high drama and higher hair, is about to experience another round of relationship wreckage and possibly actual wreckage. “Days of Our Lives” is teeing up a trifecta of troubling storylines, from teen pregnancy turmoil to a cryptic attack and, of course, the never-ending feud between Brady Black and Kristen DiMera.
Let’s start with the youngsters. Sophia Choi is apparently having second thoughts about marrying Tate Black after their unexpected pregnancy. Her apology to Tate suggests cold feet, especially given her mother’s forceful pro-life stance and insistence on a shotgun wedding. Whether Sophia continues the pregnancy or not, Salem High’s prom is going to be awkward this year.
Meanwhile, Doug Williams III isn’t having the best of times either. Discovered injured in the park by a distraught Holly Jonas, the question isn’t if Doug’s shady dealings led to this, but which shady dealings. Given his recent debt spiral and clandestine park meet-up, the list of potential assailants is longer than a Stefano DiMera monologue.
And then there’s Brady and Kristen. Because any week in Salem without these two locking horns would be like a week without someone dramatically clutching a martini glass. They’re both pointing fingers over recent events, though exactly which recent events remains a mystery wrapped in an enigma shrouded in…well, you get it. Salem. It’s complicated.
Elsewhere, the simmering tension between Philip Kiriakis and Xander Cook Kiriakis continues. Belle Black’s warning of an impending legal decision could throw gasoline on that particular dumpster fire. Is anyone taking bets on who snaps first?
