In the series premiere of Dead and Buried, Cathy (Annabel Scholey), a woman with a young son, has a fateful encounter outside a supermarket with Michael (Colin Morgan), the man convicted of brutally murdering her brother 20 years earlier.
Ignoring her best friend’s advice, Cathy becomes fixated on Michael and uses social media to uncover the life he has built since his early release from prison. While Michael has moved on, Cathy has been grieving for her brother.
Retraumatised by this unexpected encounter, Cathy finds herself drawn into a clandestine relationship with the man she despises. She embarks on a dangerous campaign of harassment and deceit, blurring the lines between dark fantasies of revenge and reality. As her obsession intensifies, Cathy sets out to destroy Michael’s life, engaging in a disturbing game of psychological warfare.
