Deadloch Renewed for a Second Season on Prime Video

Deadloch Season 2

The Amazon Original series Deadloch has been renewed for a second season, set to commence production later this year. Co-created by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, the crime comedy’s first season garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated global fan base.

Deadlock reached the Top 10 in over 165 countries and territories on Prime Video. The first season, set in Tasmania, followed two contrasting detectives, Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe, as they investigated a downright bizarre murder mystery.

The series featured all the trappings of a Nordic Noir style mystery and was also outrageously funny. It has picked up multiple accolades, including five AACTA Awards and nominations in the 2024 TV WEEK Logie Awards.

Season two will see the detective duo, played by Kate Box and Madeleine Sami, head to the Top End of Australia, specifically Darwin, for a new investigation. They will be joined by Nina Oyama and Alicia Gardiner, reprising their roles as Abby Matsuda and Cath York, respectively.

The six-part second season is written by McCartney and McLennan, who also serve as executive producers, and will be directed by Beck Cole and Gracie Otto.
