A powerful hurricane throws a surprise at the Death Coast team, as Jeff Mackinnon and his crew are forced to seek shelter in a secluded cove. But even hunkered down, they’re not about to let a little gale-force wind get in the way of a good shipwreck. This Saturday at 12 PM ET on History, The Sunken Legend (Season 1, Episode 7) sees the team turn their attention to a new target: The Lombrac, a fabled 18th-century ghost ship rumored to rest somewhere in their restricted search zone.
With just 12 weeks before the North Atlantic’s notoriously rough waters become too dangerous to dive, every hour counts. Mackinnon, who has exclusive salvage rights to this stretch of ocean graveyard, knows his time is limited. While the hurricane rages outside, the team gets to work, scouring historical records and local lore for clues. Soon, divers brave the still-churning currents to see what the depths might reveal. As artifacts surface, Mackinnon’s pursuit of this 300-year-old mystery kicks into high gear.
