Deb Knight is rejoining the Nine Network in a full-time capacity, taking on a lead presenting role across multiple bulletins and stepping away from her long-running radio post.
Starting Monday, July 21, Knight will anchor the national 9News Morning bulletin at 11:30 AM each weekday. She will also present 9News Afternoon in Sydney, strengthening her presence across the network’s daytime news output.
Knight will continue hosting the Saturday edition of A Current Affair, where she has built a steady connection with viewers across the country. That weekly appearance now sits alongside a broader return to daily news programming.
The move marks the end of her tenure on Money News, the weeknight program she has helmed since 2020 on 2GB, 3AW, 4BC, and 6PR. Knight will present her final episode on Thursday, with her replacement to be announced shortly. She is expected to address listeners on tonight’s broadcast at 7:00 PM.
Knight leaves Money News on a high. Under her leadership, the program posted record ratings, including a No. 1 finish in Sydney. Greg Byrnes, National Content Manager of Nine Radio, acknowledged the show’s strong performance during her run.
Her expanded television role reflects a strategic shift for Nine, with Fiona Dear, Director of News and Current Affairs, highlighting Knight’s track record and familiarity with audiences as key factors behind the decision.
The reshuffle positions Knight as one of the most visible faces on Nine’s weekday news roster. Her return comes at a time of tightening competition across morning and afternoon news slots, particularly in key east coast markets.
