Disney+ Cancels ‘Star Wars’ Series ‘The Acolyte’ After One Season

The Acolyte

The Star Wars series The Acolyte, which streamed on Disney+, has been canceled after one season. The Acolyte, a Star Wars mystery thriller set during the final days of the High Republic era, centered on the character of a former Padawan, Osha (Amandla Stenberg) and her twin sister Mae (also played by Stenberg). Osha reunites with her Jedi Master, Sol, played by Lee Jung-jae, to investigate a series of crimes that soon reveal a darker and more sinister force at play.

As the season progresses, Osha and her companions uncover a sinister plot, and in a shocking twist, Osha kills her former master, Sol, demonstrating her turn to the dark side, there was plenty of scope to continue the plot but the show will not be returning to explore further storylines.

The series also starred Manny Jacinto, Lee Jung-jae, Rebecca Henderson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Joonas Suotamo.
