Disney+ Preview for “Doctor Who” Festive Special, Premieres Christmas Day

Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson debut as The Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday in the upcoming “Doctor Who” Christmas Special. The teaser was released early and a world premiere event held.

Two new faces will appear in the upcoming “Doctor Who” Christmas Special, titled “The Church on Ruby Road,” which is set to premiere on December 25. Ncuti Gatwa will make his debut as the Fifteenth Doctor, and Millie Gibson will join the cast as the Doctor’s new companion, Ruby Sunday.

The Christmas Special will also feature Davina McCall, playing herself, as well as Michelle Greenidge, Angela Wynter, and Anita Dobson. The special’s plot centers around Ruby Sunday and the Doctor’s encounter with stolen babies, goblins, and a potential revelation about Ruby’s birth.

To mark the upcoming premiere, Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson participated in a special event at the London Eye, where they lit up the iconic landmark in the colors of the “Doctor Who” Time Vortex.

A world premiere screening of the Christmas Special was held at the British Film Institute, Southbank, with a Q&A session featuring Gatwa, Gibson, and showrunner Russell T Davies.

The 60th Anniversary Specials “The Star Beast,” “Wild Blue Yonder,” and “The Giggle” are now available for streaming on Disney+.

New episodes of “Doctor Who” will be available for streaming on Disney+ worldwide, except for in the UK and Ireland.
