Divided by Design “Questionable Tastes” (HGTV, Thursday, January 23, 2025)

Teen bedrooms and construction nightmares – the two things guaranteed to test any designer’s patience. In the latest episode of HGTV’s “Divided by Design,” Ray and Eilyn Jimenez face both, and frankly, I’m worried for them.

This week, the Miami-based design duo takes on the daunting task of designing bedrooms for their nephews. As anyone who’s ever interacted with a teenager knows, their design preferences can be… let’s just say “unique.” Expect bold color choices, questionable posters, and a whole lot of eye-rolling. On top of that, Eilyn continues to battle construction woes on a seemingly never-ending renovation project. One can only assume the phrase “This is not what I envisioned” will be uttered at least a dozen times.

But it’s not all teenage angst and construction dust. Ray and Eilyn also get a glimpse of the landscaping plans for their own dream home. A little bit of vicarious house-hunting never hurt anyone, right?

“Divided by Design” continues to offer a glimpse into the often-chaotic world of high-end design. The show’s strength lies in the interplay between Ray and Eilyn, whose contrasting styles and playful banter make for an entertaining watch.
