In the medical world, the line between doctor and patient can be thin. But what happens when a highly respected physician suddenly finds herself on the other side of the stethoscope? That’s the premise of FOX’s Doc, which follows Dr. Amy Larsen’s journey through a medical and personal maze after a brain injury erases eight years of her memory.
In this week’s episode, “…Try Try Again,” Amy’s recovery, or lack thereof, takes center stage. Once the Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital, she’s now a patient, grappling with a world she barely recognizes. Her colleagues, once her subordinates, now hold her medical fate in their hands. Even with a significant memory deficit, Amy’s instincts haven’t dulled. She tries to insert herself into her roommate’s case, much to the consternation of the hospital staff. It’s a poignant reminder of the dedicated physician she once was, struggling to break free from the confines of her current condition.
The series explores not just Amy’s medical struggles but the emotional fallout of her amnesia. She must confront a reality where her daughter is now a teenager, a stranger in many ways, and her relationships are a jumble of forgotten connections.
Tune in to FOX on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET/PT to follow Amy’s uncertain path towards recovery.
