Sun, sea, and…sudden-onset appendicitis? “Doctor Odyssey” sets sail for spring break this Thursday, and the Odyssey becomes a floating college campus, complete with partying students and potential romances. Max, naturally, finds himself at the center of the action, his attention captured by a trio of spring breakers described as “vixens.” Expect romantic hijinks and possibly some bad decisions amidst the stunning ocean backdrop.
But “Spring Break” isn’t all fun and games. Tristan’s storyline takes a more serious turn as he finally faces his drinking problem, a development that could have lasting repercussions for the character. Meanwhile, the medical team isn’t getting much of a break, dealing with a variety of passenger emergencies that keep them hopping from one crisis to the next.
With strong performances from Don Johnson, Joshua Jackson, Phillipa Soo, and Sean Teale, “Doctor Odyssey” continues to balance the light and the heavy, it’s a blend of escapism and relatable personal stories.
