The Doctor is back on BBC One this Saturday, and as usual, trouble isn’t far behind. “The Well,” the third episode of the new season, finds the Doctor and Belinda on a devastated mining colony in the far future, a place where survival seems to be a luxury few can afford.
The episode’s synopsis is characteristically cryptic, hinting at “absolute terror” lurking within the colony’s confines. With only one survivor to offer clues, the Doctor and Belinda must face whatever horrors await to uncover the truth about what happened on this desolate planet. It wouldn’t be “Doctor Who” without a healthy dose of suspense and a dash of existential dread, and “The Well” looks like it delivers both in spades.
