UKTV has commissioned a new factual series, Dom Chinea’s Cornish Workshop, following Dom Chinea as he builds a new life from the ground up in rural Cornwall.
The 5-part series will air in 2026 on U&YESTERDAY and stream for free on U. It’s produced by Beagle Media and follows Chinea, known for The Repair Shop and Make It At Market, as he transforms a derelict farmhouse and barn into a fully functioning workshop. Alongside him are his wife Maria, their dog Wendy, and a rotation of local tradespeople including regular collaborator Sam Lovegrove.
Filmed across seasons, the series combines restoration, engineering, and DIY with community work. Each episode captures Chinea tackling local projects, from building an all-terrain vehicle to repairing church bells and customising an ice cream van. The workshop itself remains a central challenge, with Chinea racing to get it weatherproof before Cornwall’s autumn storms arrive.
The commission comes from Kirsty Hanson, with oversight by Helen Nightingale, Adam Collings, and Hilary Rosen for UKTV. Jonney Steven exec produces for Beagle Media.
Dom Chinea’s Cornish Workshop joins the lineup of original factual content on U&YESTERDAY, including Bangers & Cash and Secrets of the London Underground.
Filming is underway, with the series scheduled to air in 2026.
