Donnie Wahlberg’s “Very Scary People” Season 2 This April on Investigation Discovery
Investigation Discovery announces the return of “Very Scary People,” a spine-chilling series hosted and executive produced by Donnie Wahlberg. The show, with its two-hour episodes, will feature in-depth interviews and incredible archival footage that offer unprecedented and comprehensive insight into society’s most feared minds, their twisted crimes, background, motives, psyche, and the subsequent investigations. Additionally, local authorities, journalists, and people close to both the victims and the killers will provide their accounts of the crimes.
The new season of “Very Scary People” premieres on Sunday, April 16, at 9PM8c on ID, and viewers can stream it on discovery+ the same day. The show’s past seasons are also available to stream on discovery+. The season opener, “The Trailside Killer,” focuses on the serial killer David Carpenter, who terrorized the quiet Northern California community between 1979 and 1981 with his cold-blooded violence, leading to a challenging investigation by local authorities.
The new season of “Very Scary People” also delves into some of the vilest individuals of the past few decades, including Larry Hall, a rapist and murderer exposed by former drug smuggler turned F.B.I. informant James Keene; Richard Cottingham, the Times Square Killer; Keith Jesperson, also known as The Happy Face Killer; John Robinson, the self-proclaimed “Slavemaster,” who was the internet’s first serial killer; and Judy Buenoano, a deadly Black Widow, who disguised herself as a nurse, mother, and wife.
“I could not be more excited for a new season of VERY SCARY PEOPLE to air on Investigation Discovery,” said Wahlberg. “With each episode, we bring new insights into the lives of terrifying criminals to create awareness and hope this knowledge helps prevent similar crimes from happening in the future.”
