Dr. Phil Tackles Texas Execution Case in Primetime Special on MeritTV

Dr Phil Primetime

Dr. Phil, never one to shy away from a controversial case, is turning his attention to the Robert Roberson case in an upcoming primetime special. Roberson, who was scheduled for execution on October 17, 2024, for the death of his two-year-old daughter, received a last-minute stay. The case hinges on the now-questionable “shaken baby syndrome” diagnosis, with new evidence suggesting alternative causes of death.

The special, airing at 8:00pm on November 6, 2024 on MeritTV, will feature interviews with a juror from the original 2003 trial who now believes Roberson is innocent, as well as Roberson’s attorney and various legal experts. Dr. Phil, who previously testified before the Texas Legislature on Roberson’s behalf, will undoubtedly offer his perspective on the legal wrangling and the implications for forensic science standards. Expect a mix of impassioned pleas, dramatic pronouncements, and perhaps a sprinkle of “get real” moments.
