Channel 4’s new dance-school drama, “Dreamers,” leaps onto screens this Sunday, bringing the energy and angst of aspiring young dancers to life. Set in Leeds, the six-part series follows a group of talented but diverse students as they work through the trials and tribulations of growing up, both inside and outside the studio.
In the opening episode, the pressure is on for the Chapeltown Collective, a dance crew competing for a coveted spot at the prestigious Manchester U-Beat Showcase. Puppy, a key member of the CC, finds herself struggling under the weight of expectation. With support from fellow dancer Koby, the crew pulls together, pushing through their individual anxieties to secure their place at U-Beat.
But the competition is just one element of “Dreamers.” The series also explores the tangled web of friendships, rivalries, and romantic entanglements that shape the lives of these young dancers. With dynamic choreography that captures the emotional complexities of the characters, “Dreamers” looks to offer a fresh and engaging take on the classic teen drama. It premieres this Sunday, March 30th at 10:00 PM on Channel 4 with the whole first season airing after this opening episode.
