The Drew Barrymore Show, CBS, Week of January 27

The Drew Barrymore Show Key Art

Daytime talk shows usually traffic in the fluffy and frivolous. But Drew Barrymore, never one to shy away from the real, is tackling a topic rarely discussed in the glossy world of celebrity: menopause. This week, Barrymore, along with Brooke Shields and Naomi Watts, is hosting a menopause roundtable, promising a candid discussion about symptoms, mental health, and navigating the medical maze.

Watts will also discuss her new book, “Dare I Say It,” touching on aging in Hollywood and other taboo topics. Adding a dash of practical advice, Valerie Bertinelli will share gadgets designed to ease menopausal symptoms. And in a celebratory moment, Shields will unveil Barrymore’s AARP magazine cover, marking her 50th birthday.

Beyond the menopause deep dive, the week offers a diverse lineup. Denis Leary will discuss his new comedy, “Going Dutch,” and the joys (and potential pitfalls) of working with his son. The cast of “The Night Agent” will also drop by, presumably to chat about the show’s latest season and perhaps share some behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

Midweek, Michelle Yeoh beams into the studio to discuss her role in “Star Trek: Section 31,” her Miss Malaysia title, and her remarkably patient 19-year engagement. In a nod to the Lunar New Year, Barrymore and culinary pal Pilar Valdes will whip up soy sauce chow mein with tiger prawns. Hopefully, no Klingons will crash the party.

Rounding out the week, Isla Fisher will discuss her film “Dog Man,” while chefs Sunny Anderson and Nick DiGiovanni join Barrymore in the kitchen for culinary creations. DIY enthusiasts can look forward to tips from Mikel Welch and Danny Seo on crafting coffee tables and lamps. Finally, Pete Davidson and Lil Rel Howery will close out the week, discussing their collaboration on (you guessed it) “Dog Man.”
