Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh will read a special CBeebies Bedtime Story to mark World Sight Day on Thursday, 10 October. The chosen story, Specs for Rex, follows a young lion who is reluctant to wear his new glasses at school. Through the tale, Rex discovers that his large red glasses not only improve his vision but also help him make a new friend and earn a gold star.

The Duchess, who is deeply committed to supporting the sight loss community, uses this opportunity to raise awareness about eye health. “Our eyes are precious, and our sight is something to cherish and look after. So, let’s remember to take care of our eyes this World Sight Day.”

The reading of Specs for Rex is part of the Duchess’s ongoing efforts to support causes related to eye care and eliminating avoidable blindness.
