“Elsbeth,” the CBS procedural with a penchant for the quirky, returns this Thursday with a case involving a hot tub, a decluttering guru, and a whole lot of mess. When a man turns up dead in his own hot tub, Elsbeth finds herself consulting with his wife, Freya, a lifestyle expert whose minimalist philosophy seems at odds with her complicated personal life.
Played by guest star Mary-Louise Parker, Freya is a self-proclaimed master of tidiness, preaching a “less-is-more” gospel to her devoted followers. However, her involvement in a “throuple” relationship suggests that Freya’s own life may be far from decluttered.
Written by Erica Larson and Jonelle Lightbourne and directed by James Whitmore Jr., “Hot Tub Crime Machine” continues “Elsbeth’s” tradition of blending eccentric characters with solid police work.
The episode airs Thursday, April 3rd at 10:00 PM EST on CBS, and streaming on Paramount+.
