The premiere of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday evening featured an emotionally charged return of professional dancer Amy Dowden. Partnered with contestant JB Gill, the duo performed a heartfelt Waltz to Leo Sayer’s When I Need You, earning a standing ovation from the audience.

The performance highlighted Gill’s potential, and judges wasted no time in welcoming Dowden back to the competition after her battle with stage three breast cancer.

Judges were quick to praise both performers, with Motsi Mabuse interrupting Craig Revel Horwood to shower them with accolades. Lead judge Shirley Ballas expressed her joy, stating, “You’re home where you belong,” and complimented the outstanding choreography.
