The Equalizer Season 5 Episode 12 Recap: “Trust No One”

The Equalizer Key Art

Robyn McCall’s balancing act between vigilante justice and personal life gets even trickier in “Trust No One,” the latest episode of CBS’s The Equalizer. While Robyn and Detective Dante officially become a couple on social media – much to her family’s delight – the question of meeting the kids looms large. Robyn’s unsure if Dante’s ready for that step, creating a slight friction in their otherwise happy new chapter.

Meanwhile, a murder case lands on their doorstep, adding another layer of complication to Robyn’s already full plate. Professor Johan Kincaid, seemingly a mild-mannered academic, turns up dead. The twist? He claimed to have found a clue to Captain William Kidd’s long-lost treasure. Before his untimely demise, Kincaid sent mysterious packages and a cryptic warning to his estranged daughter Ariel: “Trust no one.” Spooked, Ariel turns to the one person she thinks can help – The Equalizer.

Harry, unsurprisingly, geeks out over the treasure hunt angle, his childhood fascination with pirates kicking into high gear. The team soon discovers that Kincaid had requested extra security from the university after receiving threats, a request that was inexplicably denied. As they dig into the world of colonial history and buried treasure, the stakes become increasingly clear – someone wanted Kincaid silenced, and they’re willing to kill to protect their secret.
