In this powerful fourth episode of ‘Erased: WW2’s Heroes of Color’, airing on Monday 17 June, Idris Elba sheds light on the untold stories of three Black sailors who defied the odds during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Despite facing segregation and oppression within the Navy, these brave men survived one of the deadliest attacks in US history.

Through this episode, Elba, whose grandfather fought in WWII, continues to restore the role of soldiers of color to their rightful place in the narrative of the war. By mixing war sequences with character portraits, the series reveals how these heroes inspired Civil Rights Movements both in the US and worldwide.
