ESPN has given the go-ahead for a new instalment in its award-winning 30 for 30 series, titled “The Sack Exchange”. The film, directed by Ken Rodgers and James Weiner, will take viewers back to the 1980s to relive the glory days of the New York Jets’ legendary defensive line, affectionately known as “The New York Sack Exchange.”
The Jets’ record-setting defence was led by a dynamic and charismatic group comprising Marty Lyons, Abdul Salaam, Joe Klecko, and Mark Gastineau. The film will explore the triumphs and lows, both on and off the field, that this larger-than-life quartet experienced, capturing the intense spotlight they found themselves in and the enduring impact it had on their brotherhood.
Marsha Cooke, Vice President and Executive Producer of ESPN Films, commented on the film saying, “as we gear up for another NFL season and there is a great deal of attention on this year’s New York Jets, ‘The Sack Exchange’ offers a timely reflection on the grit, teamwork, and passion that has defined this team.”
Further details about the release of “The Sack Exchange” will be announced in due course.
“The Sack Exchange” is produced by ESPN Films.
