“Extraordinary Birder with Christian Cooper” Premieres This June on Nat Geo Wild
Avid birdwatcher Christian Cooper transports us to the fantastic and unpredictable avian world. He goes to great lengths to learn about these extraordinary, feathered creatures and to show us the remarkable world in the sky, whether that means navigating volcanic terrain in Hawaii to find elusive honeycreepers, venturing into rainforests in Puerto Rico to find parrots, or climbing a bridge in Manhattan to find a peregrine falcon.

Christian Cooper paddles his kayak through underground caverns, climbs up and over waterfalls, and travels deep into the rainforest in search of Puerto Rico’s endemic bird species.
“New York City” Premieres on Nat Geo Wild June 24 @ 10PM/9c
In New York City, where Christian Cooper was raised, he encounters baby peregrine falcons, bathes a pigeon, and sets free a kestrel.
“Hawaii” premieres on Nat Geo Wild July 1 @ 10PM/9c
Christian Cooper sets out to discover the incredible avian diversity of Hawaii’s Big Island. Christian encounters a majestic Hawaiian Hawk, feeds cute baby white terns, and joins a wild goose chase all while learning what sets Hawaii’s avian residents apart.
“Palm Springs” premieres on Nat Geo Wild July 8 @ 10PM/9c
Birds as diverse as hawks, ravens, and hummingbirds. Christian Cooper travels to Palm Springs in search of the exotic birds of the desert. Christian gains insight into the lives of desert birds by working with a bird of prey, digging a condo for a tiny owl, and observing majestic, nesting migratory great blue herons.
“Washington DC” premieres on Nat Geo Wild July 15 @ 10PM/9c
Falcons, hawks, eagles, ospreys, and owls! Christian Cooper visits the nation’s capital in search of its recognizable birds. Christian develops a deeper respect for DC’s avian residents after encountering everything from a renowned eagle family to a pristine “nest” island to working with conservationists to aid grassland birds to an owl that saved a man’s life.
“Alabama” premieres on Nat Geo Wild July 22 @ 10PM/9c
Kites, woodpeckers, eagles, and shrikes! Christian Cooper ventures to the South in search of the extraordinary avian life in Alabama, one of the most biologically diverse states in the United States. Christian learns a lot about the area and himself through his experiences flying the legendary Auburn War Eagle, interacting with a “serial killer” of songbirds, and operating a tractor in order to attract some acrobatic birds.
