ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is back with another dose of heartwarming renovation. This week, the team heads to Houston to help the Elrod family, who suffered an unimaginable loss. A house fire claimed not only their home, but also the life of a beloved grandmother and their pet cat.
Stepping in to lend their organizational expertise are Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin. Together with the “Extreme Makeover” crew and builders from Taylor Morrison, they’ll work to create a space that meets the Elrod’s specific needs and hopefully begins to heal their emotional wounds. It’s a tall order, turning a tragedy into a feel-good TV moment, but that’s the “Extreme Makeover” specialty.
The episode will document the entire process, from initial design to the grand reveal, focusing on the creation of a home tailored to the Elrod’s new reality. Expect plenty of emotional moments, design challenges, and, of course, the sheer relief and joy of a family getting a fresh start after enduring the unthinkable.
