Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit to Host the Classic Renovation Series

ABC has announced the return of the celebrated home renovation series, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, with a new season expected to air during 2024-25. Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, co-founders of the global lifestyle brand The Home Edit, will host the series, which promises to blend emotional stories, dedicated volunteers, and impressive construction projects.

The original Extreme Makeover: Home Edition aired on ABC from 2004 to 2012 and briefly returned on HGTV in 2020. Ty Pennington hosted the show, which featured families facing challenges and received complete home makeovers tailored to their needs. The upcoming reboot will retain this feel-good format while incorporating Shearer and Teplin’s unique expertise in organization and interior design.

In each episode, Shearer and Teplin will collaborate with a deserving family to assess and organize their belongings. They will be joined by builders and contractors from Taylor Morrison, who will customize the family’s home to fit their lifestyle and requirements. The series will demonstrate the transformative impact of renovation, showing how it can change not just the physical space but also the lives of the people involved.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is produced by Endemol Shine North America and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, in association with Walt Disney Television Alternative. The executive producers include Shyam Balsé, Sharon Levy, and Michael Heyerman from Endemol Shine North America, as well as Reese Witherspoon, Sara Rea, Cassie Lambert Scalettar, and Molly Sims from Hello Sunshine.
