Channel 5’s “Faking It” returns with a brand new season of radical transformations. This time around, a refined Surrey estate agent is thrust into the boisterous world of a northern market trader. Can he pull off the switch?
Meet Rex, accustomed to the manicured lawns and hushed tones of high-end property deals. “Faking It” throws him headfirst into the hustle and bustle of Bolton Market, giving him a mere four weeks to learn the ropes of the meat trade from seasoned veterans Tony and Elliot. Expect early starts, long days, and a crash course in the art of banter.
Back in Essex, wheeler-dealer Tom Skinner offers Rex tips on navigating the cutthroat world of market stalls, while a dialect coach and a team of stylists work to transform Rex’s appearance, complete with tattoos and a new, more “northern” haircut.
The ultimate test? Rex must run his own meat stall solo at Barnsley Market, where three industry experts will judge whether he can convincingly fake it or if he’s just another posh boy playing dress-up. Find out Tuesday, May 20th at 9:00 PM on Channel 5.
