‘Fallout’ Renewed for Season 3 at Prime Video Ahead of Season 2 Launch

Prime Video isn’t waiting for the next chapter of Fallout to drop before committing to more.

The global hit has landed a third season order, announced Thursday during Amazon’s upfront presentation. The early pickup arrives months ahead of Season 2’s premiere this December and signals continued momentum for the post-apocalyptic drama, which cracked 100 million viewers with its debut run.

The move positions Fallout as a key franchise play for Prime Video. The series is now one of the streamer’s three most-watched titles of all time and joins The Boys and Reacher as a foundational piece of Amazon’s tentpole strategy.

Based on the iconic Bethesda video game, the show centers on the uneasy collision between life inside the Vaults and the brutal world above. Season 2 will head to fan-favorite terrain: New Vegas. Production is already underway.

Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins—three of the show’s core stars—were on hand at the presentation to reveal the December launch window and tease what’s next. Also returning behind the scenes are showrunners and co-creators Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, alongside executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy via Kilter Films.
