OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s unscripted series, “Family or Fiancé,” is set to return for a new season, bringing with it a fresh slate of engaged couples and their families grappling with deep-seated disagreements. Hosted by relationship coach Tracy McMillan, the show places these couples and their dissenting families into a unique social experiment, requiring them to confront their differences over a three-day period. Check out the trailer for the new season right below.

The central tension of the program rests on the fundamental question: can these couples reconcile their romantic aspirations with the concerns of their families, or will they be forced to choose one over the other? The new season is scheduled to premiere Saturday, February 8 at 9 PM ET/PT, before moving to its regular 8 PM ET/PT slot on March 1.

The format of “Family or Fiancé” remains consistent with previous seasons, employing a combination of coaching sessions with McMillan and directed tasks intended to facilitate bonding. However, the situations presented this season demonstrate a spectrum of challenges.

The premiere episode introduces James and Jamica, a couple who are third cousins, a fact that has raised considerable concern among their immediate relatives. This scenario sets the tone for the season, which will examine how couples manage significant external factors that impinge on their relationship.

Other episodes will examine lifestyle conflicts, like Sonia and Michael’s post-New York City romantic whirlwind, and the impact of past traumas on relationships such as Tiara and Aikeem’s childhood romance. In further episodes, Oleathia and Terrance attempt to move beyond the immediate crisis which initially bonded them while Britne and Jide face the challenge of integrating deeply divergent family histories and one half of the couple’s struggle with being labeled a “mama’s boy.”

The series explores how such external elements can affect the foundational trust required for marriage. The program is produced for OWN by Bunim/Murray Productions, with several episodes scheduled through mid-March and additional episodes planned later in 2025. Executive producers are Gil Goldschein, Julie Pizzi, Erica Ross, Jonathan Murray, and John Greco.
