“The White Lotus,” that HBO series about rich people behaving badly in picturesque locations. Now, imagine that premise filtered through the twisted minds behind “Family Guy.” The result? “The Fat Lotus,” airing this Sunday on FOX.
Naturally, the Griffins are swapping their Quahog digs for a swanky resort. And just as naturally, things go sideways fast. Peter, in his infinite wisdom (or lack thereof), becomes convinced that Lois is having an affair with Quagmire. Because when you’re surrounded by luxury and umbrella drinks, what else is there to do but obsess over imagined infidelities?
Expect the usual “Family Guy” shenanigans: cutaway gags that veer into the absurd, pop culture references galore, and dialogue that pushes the boundaries of good taste. It’s a formula that’s worked for over two decades, for better or worse.
The voice cast remains the same: Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, Patrick Warburton, and Arif Zahir. So, prepare for another half-hour of animated mayhem, Griffin-style. “The Fat Lotus” airs Sunday, May 18 at 8:30 PM ET on FOX.
