“Family Guy” returns with another dose of its signature blend of absurd humor and pop culture satire. In “Live, Laugh Love,” airing Sunday, February 23, Peter Griffin finds himself facing a comedic crisis: Joe Swanson has never found him funny. This revelation sets Peter off on a quest to earn a chuckle from his perpetually stoic friend. Meanwhile, Lois takes on the role of matchmaker, chaperoning a school trip with Chris and Meg in hopes of reuniting Principal Shepherd with a former flame.
Peter’s desperation for Joe’s approval will undoubtedly lead to some outlandish antics. Expect cutaway gags, inappropriate jokes, and maybe even a musical number or two. Lois’s matchmaking subplot could introduce a new character to the mix, shaking things up in Quahog. While “Family Guy” isn’t known for its heartwarming moments, the episode title, “Live, Laugh Love,” hints at a possible (though unlikely) sentimental turn.
Will Peter succeed in making Joe laugh? Will Principal Shepherd find love again? Will Stewie finally achieve world domination? Probably not, but we can always count on “Family Guy” for some ridiculous escapism. “Family Guy” airs Sundays at 8/7c on FOX. Don’t miss the new episode!
