“Fare Dodgers: At War with the Law,” returns to Channel 5 this Monday. The series once again takes viewers behind the scenes with the revenue protection teams tasked with tackling fare evasion on the UK’s rail network, a problem that costs a staggering £240 million annually.
This week, we ride along with Transport for London investigators Dan, Tracy, and Sarah as they pursue a particularly slippery fare dodger who may have evaded payment on over 200 journeys using a free travel pass. Over on South Western Railway, Revenue Protection Officers Harry and Sam are dealing with a different kind of headache: barrier-jumpers and other everyday fare evaders on the busy Hounslow line. These frontline enforcement officers have to react on their feet and make quick decisions as they confront people looking to take a free ride.
From catching those who hop turnstiles to tracking down prolific fraudsters, “Fare Dodgers” presents the constant cat-and-mouse game playing out on Britain’s trains. The first episode of the new series airs Monday, 19 May at 9:00 PM GMT on 5.
