This week’s FBI: Most Wanted traded the usual gritty back alleys for the glitz and glamour of a beauty pageant—or so it seemed. “Pageantry” quickly morphed from a celebration of international beauty into a grim investigation when Miss Honduras, fresh off her Miss Glamour Globe victory, succumbed to a mysterious poison on live television. Remy and his team, never ones to shy away from the unusual, found themselves thrust into a world of fake eyelashes, fierce competition, and, as it turned out, fatal espionage.
Suspicion initially fell on Miss Philippines, a rival contestant with a motive as flimsy as her evening gown. But when she, too, turned up dead, the team realized they were dealing with a more sophisticated killer—one who clearly wasn’t afraid of a little blood on the runway. The investigation took a sharp turn, unveiling the true identity of Miss Norway as Harper Dower, an American-born contract killer with a penchant for designer dresses and deadly poisons. Dower’s motive for the initial poisoning? A contract from the Honduran government to eliminate Miss Honduras, a vocal dissident against the country’s authoritarian president. Apparently, world peace wasn’t the only thing at stake in this competition.
The plot thickened—like a bad batch of pageant hairspray—when Dower’s mentor, the notorious assassin Adrian Dubois, entered the picture. Dower, trained by Dubois himself, was now tasked by the CIA to stop him from assassinating the Venezuelan president. Talk about a career change. From promising law student to contract killer to CIA operative, Dower’s backstory was more convoluted than the pageant’s scoring system. In the end, both Dower and Dubois were apprehended, though Dower’s cooperation with the CIA will likely keep her from sharing a cell with her former mentor.
Meanwhile, back in the slightly less dramatic world of interpersonal relationships, Hana ended things with Ethan after uncovering his prescription pill addiction. A tough break, but honestly, less messy than a poisoned tiara.
