Just when you thought a train trip couldn’t get any more stressful, “FBI” delivers “Hitched,” an episode that cranks the tension up to eleven. Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan (Zeeko Zaki), hoping for a little romantic getaway with his girlfriend, Gemma (Rosaline Elbay), instead finds himself in a real-life action movie scenario – a train hijacking. And, to make matters worse, he’s without his weapon.
The hijackers, a seemingly desperate group led by the steely Evelyn (Jennifer Ferrin), initially demand cryptocurrency as a ransom for their families. But Evelyn has a much bigger, much more explosive agenda. Her town was decimated by a train derailment caused by CTX Logistics, a tragedy that claimed her husband’s life. She’s not after money; she wants revenge.
Things go sideways when Gemma is accidentally shot during the chaos. OA is forced to blow his cover as an FBI agent to get Gemma the medical help she desperately needs, a move that puts him in a precarious position with the hijackers. They agree to help save Gemma but their trust in him evaporates.
The true nature of Evelyn’s plan becomes horrifyingly clear: she intends to use the hijacked train as a bomb to obliterate CTX Logistics headquarters. OA, now working against the clock, manages to convince the other hijackers – who were unaware of Evelyn’s true intentions – to surrender. He then performs a daring maneuver, detaching the train cars to save Gemma and the other passengers, leaving himself alone to confront Evelyn. Defeated, Evelyn chooses to end her own life, leaving OA to face the ultimate challenge – stopping a runaway train loaded with explosives.
In a final act of desperate improvisation, OA uses an electrical charge to force open the control room door and manages to pull the emergency brake, bringing the train to a screeching halt just in time. Gemma is hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery. OA is left grappling with the guilt of not being able to protect her.
“FBI” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
