Suburban life takes a dark turn in Channel 5’s new thriller, “The Feud.” Premiering this Monday, the series introduces viewers to Shelbury Drive, a seemingly idyllic street where secrets simmer beneath the surface. At the center of it all is Emma Barnett, whose simple plan to build a kitchen extension ignites a neighborhood war.
The trouble starts when Emma’s plans are met with resistance from neighbors Derek and Barbara, who object to the extension because of their “precious tree.” Barbara’s odd behavior around said tree raises red flags, and things only get weirder when Nick, the street’s CCTV-obsessed resident, starts monitoring everyone’s every move.
Adding to the mix, Emma’s husband John seems strangely unenthusiastic about the extension and staying on Shelbury Drive. Meanwhile, their builder, Lee, adds to the tension. Then there’s Emma’s decision to fast-track her planning permission with the help of her estranged father, a move that’s sure to backfire. Plus, a police officer from Emma’s past with a vendetta against her enters the picture. When Nick shares a revealing video online, Emma starts to realize she’s living amidst a web of secrets.
“The Feud” airs Monday, April 14th at 9:00 PM on Channel 5, with further episodes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
