Filming Begins for Harry and Jack Williams Crime Thriller ‘The Assassin’, Starring Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore

A new thriller, The Assassin, is currently filming in Greece, starring Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore. This Australian co-production is created by Harry and Jack Williams, known for The Tourist and The Missing. The 6-part drama will air on Prime Video and Stan in Australia.

The series centres on retired assassin Julie (Hawes), who finds herself reunited with her estranged son, Edward (Highmore), on a remote Greek island. As Edward seeks answers about his paternity, their strained relationship is further tested when Julie’s past catches up with them, forcing them to flee.

Amid a race against time and a web of conspiracies, Julie and Edward must work together for survival, even as their bond is strained. The cast also includes Shalom Brune-Franklin, Gina Gershon, Jack Davenport, Alan Dale, Gerald Kyd, Devon Terrell, and Richard Dormer.

The Assassin is a Two Brothers Pictures production for Prime Video and Stan in Australia, in association with All3Media International and ZDF. Created and written by Harry and Jack Williams, with additional writing by Krissie Ducker, Hamish Wright, and Selina Lim. Sarah Hammond and Daisy Mount are executive producers for Two Brothers Pictures, while Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore also serve as executive producers. Nige Watson produces, and Lisa Mulcahy and Daniel Nettheim direct blocks of episodes.
