Final Call for The Dry: Filming Underway on Third and Final Season

The Dry Series 2 Will Premiere on ITVX on 29 February

Production has officially started in Dublin on the third and final season of the Irish comedy-drama The Dry. The eight-episode concluding run will see Róisín Gallagher return as the perpetually spiraling Shiv Sheridan, whose attempts at a sober life are about to be thrown into a blender by a major family secret.

This isn’t a quiet goodbye for the Sheridan clan. The entire core cast is back, including Ciarán Hinds and Pom Boyd as Shiv’s parents, alongside Siobhán Cullen, Moe Dunford, and Adam John Richardson. As if the existing family mess wasn’t enough, this season introduces a new distraction for Shiv: a suitor named Daryl, played by Rick Donald. His arrival adds another complication to her already precarious recovery, forcing her to question whether she can manage a relationship while trying to manage herself.

The final batch of episodes finds the family confronting past betrayals and their own destructive habits. After the turmoil of the last season, Shiv begins to seriously question if she is the common denominator in her own problems or simply a magnet for trouble. It’s a fittingly messy and self-aware crisis for a character who has stumbled through sobriety with equal parts humor and heartache. This last chapter will force the Sheridans to reckon with the patterns they can’t seem to break and the secrets they can no longer keep buried.
