Final Whistle Blows for Sky’s “A League of Their Own” After 20 Series

A League of Their Own Key Art

Sky has announced that its long-running sports comedy panel show, “A League of Their Own,” will conclude after its upcoming 20th series. The program, which first aired 15 years ago, has been a regular fixture on British television, mixing sports trivia, physical challenges, and banter between athletes and comedians.

Romesh Ranganathan is set to host the final series. He’ll be joined by regular team captains Jamie Redknapp and Jill Scott, along with Micah Richards, who became a frequent panellist in recent years. Filming for the last run is scheduled to begin in Manchester this August. Producers have also mentioned plans to record the shows in front of the largest live studio audience in the program’s history.

The show first launched in March 2010, originally hosted by James Corden. Over its run, the format usually featured team captains and regular panellists from the worlds of sport and comedy, with different celebrity guests joining each week. This blend of personalities competing in games and quizzes formed the basis of the show.

The upcoming 20th series is intended as a celebration of the show’s run, featuring highlights from past episodes alongside new games and challenges. Sky and the production company, CPL Productions, have expressed thanks to the various casts, crews, and viewers involved over the years. Further information about the final series, including guests, is expected closer to the broadcast date. The final series will air on Sky Max and be available on NOW later this year.
