In “It’s Not Over,” the latest episode of Fire Country, airing on CBS at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, the future of Three Rock is in jeopardy, and Station 42 joins forces with Three Rock to host Edgewater’s 22nd Annual Firefighters’ Ball. Their goal is to impress the governor and save the camp. Meanwhile, Gabriela’s mother, Roberta, makes a surprise appearance at the event, adding an unexpected twist to the evening.

Fire Country is an American action-drama series created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater, inspired by Thieriot’s own experiences growing up in Northern California. The show follows Bode Donovan, a young convict who joins a firefighting program in search of redemption and a shortened prison sentence. He returns to his rural hometown, where he works alongside elite firefighters to battle the massive blazes that plague the region.

In Fire Country, the camp, officially known as Three Rock, faces the threat of being shut down. This decision comes as a crushing blow to Eve, the captain of Three Rock, who has dedicated her efforts to saving the camp and proving its value to the community. The shutdown is a result of protests from residents of Edgewater, who are uncomfortable with the presence of inmates in their town. However, Eve remains hopeful that a positive news report and the crew’s heroic actions will sway public opinion in their favor.

The situation is further complicated by the revelation that Bode has been sent back to prison due to allegations of drug dealing. This development occurs when an investigator for the state attorney general threatens to hinder Freddy’s wrongful conviction case unless Bode confesses to the drug charges. To save his friend, Bode lies to the parole board, claiming he has relapsed and is dealing drugs at Three Rock. As a result, he is sent back to prison, and the camp is left without one of its members.

CBS has officially confirmed the development of a spin-off of its popular show Fire Country, titled Sheriff Country, which will air in the 2025-2026 TV season. The show will star Morena Baccarin as Mickey Fox, a straight-shooting sheriff who investigates criminal activity while navigating her personal life, which includes an ex-con father and a daughter in rehab. The spin-off was introduced in the Fire Country episode “Alert the Sheriff,” where Baccarin’s character first appeared as a guest star with the option to lead the spin-off if it received a series order.

The success of the spin-off may depend on finding the right showrunner and aligning with Baccarin’s availability, with potential ties to Fire Country also in the works. With Fire Country renewed for a third season, the expansion of the franchise seems promising.

Tune in to Fire Country on CBS at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024, to see if Station 42 can pull off the event and save Three Rock, and to discover the reason behind Gabriela’s mother’s unexpected appearance.
