“Fire Country” turned up the heat this week, delivering an episode packed with chemical cover-ups, family turmoil, and some seriously questionable career choices. “One Last Time” picks up with Manny’s pesticide poisoning diagnosis, sending Eve on a frantic search for the source. Her investigation quickly leads to a disturbing discovery: the water supply at Three Rock is contaminated.
Meanwhile, the Leone family continues to grapple with Walter’s declining health. The episode takes a raw look at the emotional toll of caring for a loved one struggling with a debilitating illness. Tensions flare, leading to a difficult confrontation and the ultimate decision to place Walter in a care facility.
Bode, ever the restless soul, tries to keep busy with side gigs, but his efforts backfire, resulting in burnout and a painful back injury. As if that weren’t enough, his past continues to haunt him as his probation officer questions his contact with known felons.
But it’s Violet’s storyline that throws the biggest wrench into the works. She lands her dream job as a lawyer – working for none other than Oxalta, the very chemical company Sharon is investigating for its possible connection to the Three Rock poisoning. Talk about a conflict of interest. This puts her squarely on the opposing side of the firefighters at Three Rock, including her boyfriend Jake, a situation that’s bound to explode in future episodes.
“Fire Country” airs Fridays at 9/8c on CBS.
