The restaurant welcomes a diverse group of singles in this episode of First Dates. Charlie, a 26-year-old graphic designer, is matched with Benj, a 25-year-old Australian osteopath. Charlie’s relentless optimism and Benj’s emotional side, including his fondness for a good cry, set the tone for their date. Charlie also shares a deeply personal experience with Benj, opening up about her preventative mastectomy.
Meanwhile, bus driver Tommy, 29, and electrician Luke, 28, bond over their shared dislike of dating apps and hook-up culture. However, their date takes an unexpected turn when Luke discovers something about Tommy that leaves their romantic connection hanging in the balance.
Toilet roll salesman Stephen, 46, and mum-of-one Rachel, 42, bring unique perspectives to their date. Stephen, a divorced father of two, gives Rachel a lesson in loo paper—will she be impressed by his expertise, or will it fall flat?
Music lovers Doug and Sue are also looking for love. Doug, who lacks confidence in performing his music publicly, finds a kindred spirit in Sue as they discuss their past relationships. However, their connection is tested when Sue, an anti-smoker, learns that Doug is a smoker.
