In the latest episode of First Dates, sixty-three-year-old Jean, a French teacher and avid reader, joins the restaurant in hopes of finding someone ‘a little bit intellectual’. She is paired with 65-year-old crime fiction writer Andy, who, like Jean, is eager to find love later in life.
Both come with their own unique stories: Andy has overcome alcoholism, while Jean has healed from a broken heart after her husband left her for her friend. As their date progresses, a potential connection seems to be forming, but will it survive a comment from Andy that raises a red flag for Jean?
Trainee barrister Holly, 28, and 26-year-old artist Marcella are another couple to watch. Their chemistry is immediate, with both impressed by each other’s dazzling outfits. However, Holly drops a bombshell revelation about her side hustle, which could add an interesting twist to their date.
The episode also features 28-year-old Josh, who, despite his love for chat-up lines, often finds himself in the friend zone. He is matched with 23-year-old Jenna, who, at four foot two, is no stranger to being on the receiving end of a chat-up line. Their date is filled with flirting and laughter, but will it lead to something more?
Lastly, we have Shrish, who struggles to find a man who doesn’t give her the ick, and her date, Benjamin, an American actor. Shrish adores the movie Ratatouille, but Benjamin’s acting resume is filled with roles as bad guys and ‘psychos’, and he’s a method actor. Will he be able to turn on the charm and make their date a romantic success?
