The BBC has released a sneak peek of the latest addition to the Wallace and Gromit franchise, introducing Norbot, a smart gnome with a mind of its own. This new character will co-star in the upcoming feature-length film, “Vengeance Most Fowl,” premiering on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this Christmas in the UK, with a global release on Netflix this winter.
In this animated adventure, Norbot, a pre-programmed gardening assistant, quickly becomes a local favourite due to its efficiency and cheerful nature. However, as the story progresses, Norbot’s helpful nature takes a sinister turn, worrying Gromit as Wallace becomes increasingly reliant on his inventions. The film explores the consequences of Wallace’s over-dependence on technology, as Gromit must confront a rogue invention to save his friend’s creativity.
The voice cast includes Reece Shearsmith as Norbot, Ben Whitehead as Wallace, and a range of celebrated British talent, including Peter Kay, Lauren Patel, Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, Lenny Henry, and Muzz Khan. “Vengeance Most Fowl” is directed by Nick Park, creator of the iconic duo, and Merlin Crossingham, with the story written by Park and Mark Burton. The film is produced by Richard Beek.
“Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” is produced by Aardman for the BBC.
