First Look at Glenn Close in Apple TV+’s “The New Look”

Apple TV+ introduces “The New Look,” a historical drama series featuring a star-studded ensemble cast led by Glenn Close, Ben Mendelsohn, and Juliette Binoche. The series, set in World War II-era Paris, explores the iconic fashion designers Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and their impact on modern fashion.

Glenn Close to Portray Legendary Editor in Apple TV+ Drama

Apple TV+ has announced that Glenn Close will play Carmel Snow, the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, in the historical series “The New Look”. This will be Close’s first project with the show’s creator, Todd A. Kessler, since their work on the series “Damages”.

The show’s ensemble cast also includes Ben Mendelsohn, Juliette Binoche, Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, and Claes Bang. “The New Look” will premiere with the first three episodes on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 on Apple TV+.

The series is inspired by true events and is set in Paris, focusing on the lives of fashion designers such as Christian Dior and Coco Chanel during World War II. As Paris struggles under Nazi occupation, the show tells the story of how the city regained its place as a fashion icon through the work of Christian Dior.

The show also highlights the rivalry between Dior and Chanel, as well as the work of other fashion designers of the time. “The New Look” is produced by Apple Studios and DB-AK Productions, with Kessler serving as writer, executive producer, and director. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Baker are also executive producers.
