First Look: Kidnapped Unveils the Gripping True Story of Chloe Ayling on BBC Three

Kidnapped Nadia Parkes as Chloe Ayling

The BBC has released an exclusive image giving viewers a first glimpse of Nadia Parkes in the role of Chloe Ayling in the highly anticipated factual drama “Kidnapped.” This gripping six-part series chronicles the real-life abduction of Chloe Ayling during her visit to Italy in 2017 for a professional photoshoot.

Throughout the series, viewers will witness Chloe’s harrowing ordeal as she endures a traumatic kidnapping and displays remarkable bravery and resilience while held captive. The narrative also delves into the aftermath, including the court case that ultimately resulted in her kidnappers being imprisoned. However, even with the perpetrators brought to justice, Chloe finds herself at the centre of a media firestorm as certain outlets accuse her of fabricating the entire incident.

Penned by Georgia Lester and brought to life by River Pictures in collaboration with ZDFneo, “Kidnapped” draws upon meticulous research, interviews, legal records, and Chloe’s own memoir. The series endeavors to delve into the depths of Chloe’s personal journey, uncovering an emotional truth that surpasses sensationalist headlines.

Through its narrative, “Kidnapped” seeks to unravel the complex dynamics behind why Chloe became a target of blame for the crimes committed by her captors. It prompts viewers to contemplate society’s response to survivors of heinous acts who unexpectedly find themselves thrust into the limelight. Moreover, the series offers insight into the disorienting experience of an ordinary individual swept up in extraordinary events and subjected to doubt and skepticism.

Joining Nadia Parkes in the cast are Adrian Edmondson, Nigel Lindsay, Olive Gray, Eleonora Romandini, Julian Swiezewski, and Christine Tremarco.

The series is a River Pictures production for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in association with ZDFneo. It is written by Georgia Lester, with individual episodes penned by Nessa Wrafter and Tolula Dada. Al Mackay directs the series while Clare Shepherd produces. The executive producers include Michael Parke and Andrew Morrissey for River Pictures alongside Georgia Lester, Al Mackay, Priscilla Parish. Lucy Richer serves as executive producer for the BBC. River Pictures is part of BBC Studios and will handle international distribution.

“Kidnapped,” which was made in cooperation with Chloe Ayling, filmed in Italy and the UK last year. The series will premiere on BBC Three and iPlayer later this year.
