Fleur East Joins Phoenix Rise: Takes Inspiring Role in Series Three and Four

Filming is currently taking place in the West Midlands for the third and fourth series of the BBC Three series “Phoenix Rise.” In these upcoming series, Fleur East has been cast in the role of Miss Meesha, an inspiring music teacher.
“Phoenix Rise” is a drama series created by Perrie Balthazar and Matt Evans. It follows a group of young people who have been expelled from school as they reintegrate into mainstream education, form unexpected friendships, and navigate the challenges of school life. The students often meet in an unused boiler room at their school, which serves as a safe space for them.
You can stream the first season of “Phoenix Rise” on BBC iPlayer, and the second season will be available on BBC Three and iPlayer from today. The third and fourth seasons, with Fleur East as Miss Meesha, will air next year.
Fleur East says: “I’m thrilled to be a part of Phoenix Rise. There is so much raw talent and I’ve been soaking up the experience like a sponge! The cast and crew are amazing to work with and the scripts are real, gritty, funny and heart-warming. I can’t wait for everyone to be introduced to my character Miss Meesha – she’s a ball of energy!”
Phoenix Rise is made by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions and the Creative Director is Tali Walters. On series three and four, Mark Freeland is Executive Producer, alongside Perrie Balthazar and Matt Evans, and the Producer is Alison B Matthews. The series was commissioned by Sarah Muller, Senior Head of BBC Children’s Commissioning 7+ and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Amy Buscombe.
The first two series of Phoenix Rise are available now on BBC iPlayer.
