Jaleel White-hosted game show Flip Side is returning for a second season, while a new game show, The Perfect Line, hosted by Deborah Norville, is confirmed for a 2025 debut. CBS Media Ventures announced both developments, highlighting the continued strength of the game show genre.
Here’s the Lowdown: Flip Side, where teams guess how opposing groups answer survey questions, has seen a viewership increase of 23% from October to February. It currently ranks fourth among syndicated game shows, behind only Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and Family Feud. The Perfect Line, meanwhile, has secured distribution to 90% of the country.
What This Means Now: Flip Side’s success demonstrates the appeal of its unique format. The renewal, with clearances on CBS stations in 95% of the country, solidifies its place in the syndicated landscape. The green light for The Perfect Line, based on a board game by CMYK, introduces a fresh concept where contestants arrange items in the correct order.
The Bigger Picture: Game shows continue to be popular with audiences, with four of the top 12 daily first-run syndicated series belonging to the genre. CBS Media Ventures is capitalizing on this trend, adding a brand new offering in 2025 to their proven lineup. John Budkins, EVP of Programming and Syndication Production for CBS Media Ventures and Stations, stated that he wants to build on this success. Deborah Norville will present The Perfect Line.
