For The Love of Pets, premiering on Channel 9 on February 3, is a delight for animal lovers as it captures the special link Australians share with our finned, furry, fanged, and feathered pals.
This documentary series gives viewers an inside look at the busy Animal Welfare League of South Australia (AWL) and Vets4Pets Emergency Hospital in Adelaide, sharing both the inspiring and tragic stories that come out of these institutions.
Jai Courtney (Kaleidoscope, The Terminal List, Suicide Squad) narrates the documentary For The Love of Pets, which follows a colourful array of characters working in animal clinics and committing their life to the well-being of the animals in their care.
To honour the unique dedication of those who safeguard and care for our animal companions, For the Love of Pets features profiles of veterinarians performing life-changing surgery, a re-homing unit with a success rate of 4,000+ pets per year, and a small, compassionate team who help families say their final goodbyes.
In the premiere episode Frankie, a French bulldog, is four years old in the debut episode, and she has been bitten by a snake. The veterinarians at the 24-hour emergency clinic Vets4Pets are working to save her.
