Found: Missing While Hated Preview

NBC’s “Found” seems poised to crank up the tension in “Missing While Hated,” the seventh episode of its second season. This week, Gabi (Shanola Hampton) and her team tackle the disappearance of a non-binary activist, a case immediately clouded by the possibility of a hate crime.

While the team wades into the murky waters of prejudice and violence, Gabi herself grapples with ghosts from her past, threatening to expose a secret she’s clearly worked hard to bury. Meanwhile, Trent’s (Brett Dalton) laser focus on Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and his supposed accomplice tightens the screws on both men, while Zeke (Arlen Escarpeta) makes a gamble with the DCPD that could backfire spectacularly. It’s a lot of plot, and “Found” will need to be firing on all cylinders to avoid tripping over its own narrative feet.

“Missing While Hated” will be a mix of procedural thrills and character exploration, something “Found” has attempted with varying degrees of success so far this season. Will the potential hate crime storyline provide a nuanced look at societal biases, or will it settle for a more predictable “ripped from the headlines” approach?

Can the show balance the unfolding mystery with Gabi’s personal struggles without resorting to melodrama? And, perhaps most importantly, will Zeke’s risky maneuver pay off, or land him in hot water? These are just a few of the questions looming as “Found” heads into its seventh episode.

Found “Missing While Hated” airs on NBC this Thursday, November 14, at 10:00 PM. The episode will be available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
