Found Season 2 Episode 20 Recap: “Missing While Independent”

Found Key Art

On this week’s “Found,” the Missing Persons Unit was up against the clock when Margaret took on the case of Diane, a young woman with Down Syndrome who had disappeared. At the same time, Gabi was still dealing with the aftermath of her intense encounter with Sir, and now faced a new problem: his determined lawyer, Lena.

Lena, focused on freeing her client, started targeting M&A’s clients, putting pressure on Gabi to take back her story about Sir. This really raised the personal stakes, backing Gabi into a corner and making her feel increasingly powerless. On top of that, Sir kept playing his manipulative games, telling the FBI he’d only help if Gabi agreed to his very unprofessional terms.

While Gabi dealt with these growing pressures, Margaret stayed focused on finding Diane. The case brought attention to the specific challenges people with Down Syndrome face when seeking independence, and how important support systems are. Thankfully, the team’s hard work led to a successful and heartwarming reunion between Diane and her baby.

We also saw some flashbacks to Margaret’s past, showing moments around Jamie’s disappearance years ago. And in a surprising turn, Jamie confronted his abuser and turned against Carrie, who had been hoping to reunite with her other son, Nicholas.

As the episode wrapped up, Gabi figured out that Lena’s attacks were aimed at clients Sir didn’t care about losing – a cold reminder that Sir’s obsession has always been fixed on Gabi herself. With the feeling of the net closing in, and Lena becoming a tougher opponent, the team had to lean on each other. It certainly left me hanging, waiting to see what happens next in this tricky cat-and-mouse game.

“Found” airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC.
